Press Release: Upcoming PIRC Agenda Addresses Industry Issues

Estimating-Data Integrations, Background Checks, and Requirements of a Restorer are just a few of the discussion topics slated for July 19 meeting

The Property Insurance & Restoration Conference (PIRC) has released the preliminary agenda for the upcoming meeting on July 19, 2018, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago Wood Dale- Elk Grove with an all-day meeting followed by a reception. This agenda is based on issues relevant to industry segment discussions and participant feedback, including many items that have been in recent news.

An Appeal to Our Industry, from Dale Sailer

We’ve now held the fourth edition of the Property Insurance and Restoration Conference and, toward the end of the latest session, one of the contractor attendees (I’ll call him John) asked a question: “When should we expect to see the results of our efforts?”  While that query is quite valid, it is also very difficult to answer.  Jeff Hendler, the current administrator of the Collision Industry Conference (the 35 year old, elder sibling to our infant venture) provided a crisp answer to those in attendance in Salt Lake City, but I think it only touched one aspect of the impact that PIRC can have and, I might argue, already has.  Let me offer a perspective across a few dimensions.

Though the two events are not connected, PIRC will be held just prior to the Xactware Elevate Conference.

The PIRC, a uniquely-formatted conference held in the restoration industry, to be interactive and discussion-based for attendees. Where most other conference attendees participate in learning-type environments, this format is meant to have topic-led discussions between all industry segments that lead to issue identification, transparency, and possible solutions where applicable.

Agenda for Upcoming Property Insurance & Restoration Conference Aiming to Gain Momentum

Pasco, Washington – October 9, 2017 – The third meeting of the industry start-up Property Insurance & Restoration Conference (PIRC) has released the preliminary agenda for the upcoming meeting in Fort Worth, Texas at the Sheraton Fort Worth Downtown Hotel on November 14-15, 2017 beginning with an evening reception and followed by the next day meeting. Though the two events are not connected, PIRC will be held just prior to the PLRB Large Loss Conference.

Covering topics like consumer views, new technologies such as drones and regulatory updates, the meeting is set to be a discussion not to be missed. Coming off of recent catastrophic disasters in Texas and Florida, the group will do a deep dive into what the industry can do to improve response, industry perceptions, and practices. The PIRC Agenda Committee put forth the topic line-up which frames the considerations all attendees will get to provide feedback on, and be a part of what the Conference intends to push forward in the future meetings or even work products such as “Best Practices”.

Press Release: Recent PIRC Meeting Shows Much Accomplishment in Recap of Event

Pasco, Washington – April 12, 2017 – The second installment of the industry start-up - Property Insurance & Restoration Conference (PIRC) – recently held its March meeting in Boston, Massachusetts beginning with an evening networking reception and followed by the next day meeting. Now available for industry review is the overall meeting “Recap” of the event. In this recap, the topics outlined in the agenda are given a summary of the discussions which took place. Those in attendance had positive sentiment for the future of the meetings’ capabilities to work toward the intended mission (outlined below).

Including a brief history of the conference’s start, and how it parallels the collision industry for capacity to affect change, the group looked at possibilities of “Best Practices” for various correlations to restoration processes. Talking through buzzing trend topics like Virtual Reality and Drones, the group also watched the collision industry version of implementing “smart home” technologies and what that means for the claims landscape if those technologies become more prevalent. The Drone technology also led to questions about privacy, both for that of the home or business owner in addition to the neighboring structures.
