Data Standards & Accessibility, Background Checks, Restorer Requirements and Photo Documentation are just a few of the discussion topics slated for November 13-14 meeting in Atlanta, Ga.
Pasco, Washington – November 1, 2018 – The Property Insurance & Restoration Conference (PIRC) has released the preliminary agenda for the upcoming meeting on November 13 and 14, 2018, at the Hilton Garden Inn – Atlanta Airport North in Atlanta, Ga. This meeting will be comprised of two half-day sessions with a reception on Tuesday evening. This agenda is based on issues relevant to restoration industry segment discussions and participant feedback, including many items that have been in recent news.
Highlighted for the meeting, the recently formed PIRC-CIECA Data Standards & Accessibility Committee will give an update on the work they have been doing acknowledging the need for data exchange and accessibility standards, and establishing the methods in which that can be accomplished. This is to address the issues of rekeying, messaging and more. Part of this effort can be seen on the committee’s website page. The committee is a joint effort between PIRC and CIECA, a data standards organization that develops industry electronic standards, codes and standard messages and provides implementation guides to make the industry more efficient. All standards are developed by members.
Covering topics such as background check standardization, best practices for photo documentation, defining roles of restorers, consultants and insurers to the claims process, the meeting will continue to expand discussions centered around bettering the overall industry. Several additional timely topics are slated for in-depth dialogue by those in attendance.
One special presentation will be centered around background checks and the possible standard creation that can be widely integrated for the industry, reducing costs and inefficiencies. The committee, formed as the PIRC Background Checks committee, will address their work to bring a possible solution for attendee consideration. A draft white paper will be issued in advance to those already on the communications list or pre-registered for the Conference.
The PIRC, a uniquely-formatted conference held in the restoration industry, to be interactive and discussion-based for attendees. Where most other conference attendees participate in learning-type environments, this format is meant to have topic-led discussions between all industry segments that lead to issue identification, transparency, and possible solutions where applicable.
